Materials Guide
We strive to build eyewear for the future, driven by our focus on extending product lifecycle, producing with sustainable materials and creating products with outstanding build quality. Each pair of Hot Futures sunglasses is designed in East London and handmade in China.
ACETATE
Hot Futures eyewear frames are handmade from high grade cellulose acetate, a semi-synthetic hypoallergenic material. To produce this material, an organic base substance made from cotton and wood pulp is combined with a plasticiser to create a hard, robust yet flexible material which can be carved, shaped and polished into the desired form.
We take a sustainable first approach when selecting our acetates for production.
